How to use this site

Summary
This website consists of two major components, Data Management and Document Management. The primary tool for Data Management is NESSTAR which provides a means for creating subsets of data, downloading data in several popular formats including SAS, SPSS and STATA as well as Excel spreadsheets and DBase files. More importantly NESSTAR permits the more sophisticated user to run online analysis using the cumulative dataset from 2006. NESSTAR can do cross-tabulations, correlations and regressions as well we generate graphics for the results of all such calculations. For detailed help on how to use NESSTAR, which can be found under the Data Analysis tab, can be found here by clicking help.
The second component is Document Management. This component is still under development however when complete it will provide a powerful search and management capability for the thoudands of bibliographic entries related to the GSS and their associated documents.
Finally an extensive User's Guide is also under development and will provide the necessary details to permit both the novice and expert user of the GSS to easily navigate this site.
