Abstract:

Differences exist between people who voted for Nixon and those who voted for McGovern in their personal trust. Confidence in television and the press are investigated over time since the Watergate affair. In general, Nixon voters trusted people less and had less confidence in TV and the press after Watergate. McGovern voters, however, trusted people more and had greater confidence in the press and TV.
