Yancey, George A., "Are Sociologists of Religion Really Religious: An Examination of the Religiosity of Religion Sociologists," Paper presented to the American Sociological Association, Los Angeles, 1994.
Abstract:
Sociologists of religion score higher on a religiosity scale than other sociologists. It is hypothesized that this difference stems from a greater "falling away from the faith" among most sociologists that religion sociologists do not go through.
