Unah, Isaac, "The Reciprocal Effects of Education and Political Intolerance," Paper presented to the Northeastern Political Science Association, Newark, November, 1993.

Abstract:

The relationship between education and political tolerance is shown to be bi-directional; while educational attainment is a predictor for tolerance, tolerance also functions as a predictor for educational attainment. It is hypothesized that individuals with intolerant attitudes are less able to cope with the diverse personalities, demands, and stresses inherent in an academic environment and so may have less academic success.
