Taylor, D. Garth, "Sorting Out the Issues in Social Security Finance: American Politics and Public Opinion," Paper presented at the Symposium on Social Security Finance, Washington, D.C., April, 1980.

Abstract:

Because of the changing demographic composition of American society, the way in which Social Security is presently financed must be altered. The author discusses the issues that must be considered in this refinancing, i.e., fears of inflation, resentment toward taxation in general, attitudes of younger people, and support for national health insurance.
