Taylor, D. Garth, "Contextual Analysis of American Racial Attitudes: Urban vs. Non-Urban Comparisons," NORC report to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, August, 1979.

Abstract:

There is urban/rural variation in the exposure to interracial contact and the interpretation of it. Subsequently, there are environmental differences in the amount and style of interracial social participation and in the amount of accommodation to minority group presence. These differences affect variation in either rural or urban environments.
