Reiser, Mark, "Latent Trait Modeling of Attitude Items," in Social Measurement, G.W. Bohrnstedt and E.F. Borgatta (eds.), Beverly Hills: Sage Publications, 1981.
Abstract:
The latent trait theory model is applied to race relation items in the two surveys in order to form a one-dimensional scale. Except for the RACMAR item, parameters remained constant between the surveys. Explanations for this shift were offered and future applications of the theory were discussed.
