Abstract:

Religio-ethnic minorities in small communities participate in voluntary organizations more than those in large communities. For members of liberal Protestant denominations, church membership and religious intensity varies inversely with community size. For Catholics, tolerance of premarital sex increases with community size while sex role attitudes are not significantly affected by community size.
