Abstract:
Satisfaction with life in general has risen over the 1970s and 1980s with the young, better educated, and rich reporting the largest gains. Satisfaction with marriage and family has remained constant, while satisfaction with health and confidence in education has risen slightly. Confidence in the government is low while confidence in the economy may be weakening.
