Peek, Charles W. and Brown, Sharon, "Sex Prejudice Among White Protestants: Like or Unlike Ethnic Prejudice?" Social Forces, 59 (September, 1980), 169-185.

Abstract:

Like ethnic prejudice, political sex prejudice is more prevalent among Protestants than among unaffiliated whites. Unlike ethnic prejudice, fundamentalist and non-fundamentalist Protestant groups show the same degree of sex prejudice, and among non-fundamentalists the less religious are not more prejudiced toward women, while among fundamentalist groups the more religious exhibit higher levels of sex prejudice.
