Olson, John Keven, "The Protestant Ethic and Spirit of Tolerance," Unpublished Ph.D. dissertation, Washington State University, 1992.
Abstract:
Religious involvement by itself does not promote political tolerance, however a sense of religious attachment and importance increases political tolerance. Those who hold orthodox views of the Bible are less likely to be tolerant than are those holding liberal theological beliefs. Persons belonging to Reformed churches are less politically tolerant than Lutherans are.
