Obermiller, Tim Andrew, "Sex by the Numbers," University of Chicago Magazine, 87 (October, 1994), 34-37.

Abstract:

Contrary to popular belief, married people report having sex more often than singles and being more satisfied with their sex lives overall. In terms of sexual preferences, Americans find vaginal sex to be more appealing than oral sex, while relatively few find anal sex, group sex, or sex with a stranger appealing at all.
