Nelson, Lynn D. and Henry, Neil W., "Research Note: Simultaneous Control and Crosstabular Presentation with Polytomous Variables: The Case of Religion Predictors," Journal for the Scientific Study of Religion, 29 (1990), 255-263.

Abstract:

Using typological regression standardization (TRS) techniques Nelson and Henry find (counter to Roof and McKinney, see also No. 2550) that religious activity does not correspond to increased acceptance of a particular religious groups values. TRS deals with handles continuous and discrete variables, and allows greater flexibility in analyzing variables.
