Abstract:

Aside from the softening of Catholic attitudes on abortion over the years, one notes in the relationship between religion and attitudes toward abortion the clustering around two scale scores (approval of abortion if there is a chance of serious defect in the baby and if the woman is married but does not want any more children) which could benefit from employing predictor variables found in previous research. In 1977, when approval of abortion for any reason was inserted, one notes the same phenomenon around
