Abstract:

Existing traditions of model-building for sociological time-series data are not appropriate for modeling macro social statistical time series. A more appropriate modeling framework can be produced from an analysis of (1) the measurement structures of aggregate social statistics and (2) the underlying population mathematics governing temporal dynamics in the statistics. This modeling paradigm has already been useful in several empirical studies.
