Kain, Edward L., "The Federal Government Should Not Foster Legislation Relating to the Family," in Human Sexuality: Contemporary Controversies, Harold Feldman and Andrea Parrot (eds.), Beverly Hills: Sage Publications, 1984.

Abstract:

The federal government does not serve families by promoting a largely mythical conception of the traditional family. Rather the government should support families' rights to choose their lifestyles as government and social science cannot make moral choices in abortion, gay rights, and women's rights.
