Jelen, Ted G., "Religion, Sex-Role Stereotypes, and Opposition to the Equal Rights Amendment," Paper presented to the Midwest Political Science Association, Milwaukee, April-May, 1982.
Abstract:
All types of practicing Christians are found to be highly supportive of ERA even when controls for religious intensity are applied. However, two dimensions to the concept "sexism" are identified with any religious opposition to ERA being primarily explainable in terms of negative perceptions of women.
