Gerbner, George; Gross, Larry; Morgan, Michael; and Signorielli, Nancy, "Some Additional Comments on Cultivation Analysis," Public Opinion Quarterly, 44 (Fall, 1980), 408-410.
Abstract:
In reply to Hughes' article, "The Fruits of Cultivation Analysis: A re-examination of Some Effects of Television Watching," the author claims that Hughes' use of simultaneous controls to show the lack of relationship between television viewing and attitudes fails to account for variation of opinion within certain groups, which can be predicted when television watching is considered.
