Abstract:
Organizational commitment is significantly higher in the United States than in Britain. America workers are more willing to work hard for the success of their organization and more likely to report feeling proud to be working for their organization than workers in Britain are. Perception of opportunities for promotion heightens organizational commitment in Britain but not in the U.S., where performance-related pay raises are associated with higher organizational commitment.
