Fee, Joan L., "Party Identification Among American Catholics, 1972, 1973," Ethnicity, 3 (March, 1976), 53-69.
Abstract:
Catholics are more likely to be Democrats than are non-Catholics. The Catholic voter is more likely to have ethnic origins other than Northern Europe or Canada. Knowledge of Catholic devoutness does not aid in predicting party affiliation, but those with positive feelings toward other Catholics are more likely to be Democrats.
