Abstract:

Half of Americans believed whites had become a numerical minority. Majority groups who misestimated the most had the most negative attitudes towards immigrants and minorities. Misestimation was related to neighborhood composition, but neighborhood composition didn’t have an effect of attitudes. Education changed inversely related to negative attitudes.
